KitQC2 Copies on CDs and USB keys
You can make copies of the software and give them to anybody you wish. You cannot charge money for the software, the learning files, the documentation, the translations or anything else.
The best thing is simply to put the unzipped KitQC2 folder on a CD or USB key. I suggest that you wait a week or two before giving out the CDs or using the USB key. After a couple of weeks, use your updated anti-virus software to make certain that you are not distributing viruses to your students.
This is a good tip for any CDs that you make for students and friends. It is not just about KitQC2. It is useful is to ‘finalize’ the CDs that you create. If you don’t know how to do this, get a computer person to help you. It isn’t necessary, but it will only take them a minute to explain to you how to finalize a CD.
So, once the students have the CDs then all they have to do is copy the KitQC2 folder onto their hard drives (just like any other file). There is no installation program or anything like that. Once the KitQC2 folder is on their computers, the students just need to click on the program icon (the little guy sitting and reading) to start the program.
Make certain that you have them do the mini-tutorial so that they will know how to get out of the program!
If the student has finished using the software then all they have to do to remove the program is to delete the KitQC2 folder. That’s one of the nice things about free software. It can make things a lot less complicated.
