KitQC2 has a learning file called Consignes. This is very useful information to both students and teachers.
Course books used in several literacy centers were analyzed page by page to see what words and phrases were used in the course books.
The surprising result was that there aren’t really many words and phrases used in basic French language learning books. All of the nouns used and all the phrases were put into this section of KitQC2. The number of phrases used is amazingly short.
Teachers in courses where the students work at their own pace explained that one of the main problems they had was this : the students couldn’t read the basic instructions in the books. So, the teachers had to waste a lot of time explaining the printed instructions to the students.
It is a good idea to make certain that students learn the words and sample phrases early on in their studies. This will save both the students and the teachers a lot of time.
