Using it with other languages
KitQC2 is very simple and very efficient. It would be easy to make a course for other languages using KitQC2. The software is designed such that a person can work with a pencil and paper (or chalkboard). You can actually put the keyboard to one side to leave more space for writing.
Everything can be customized. It is simple to define new content and then link up the sound files with the content.
Languages don’t change quickly. So, taking the time to make a course in a different language and recording the sound files is worth it. You can share it directly with your students or make the content available on the Internet.
Since the data in the program is exportable and the sound files are just keep in folders, you have very little risk. If a better program comes along, you can just load the content into that better program.
KitQC2 was designed to provide ideas to students, teachers and computer programers. With good software, good course content and the power of the Internet we should see significant advances in language learning productivity.
Another important requirement is that the software should work off-line. Many courses are going on-line and this is nice, but most students would prefer to be able to work on their language learning off-line. Without high-speed Internet, working online can be a real chore. It can also get expensive in countries where salaries are very low. One download can do a lot more good than fabulous content online.
Another idea is to use sound files that communicate a fact or other interesting information verbally and then just have the students type or write a very short answer. You could even use it for learning about music!
