KitQC2 Tutorial using screen shots
These are just some screen shots to show you what the program looks like. To return to this web page after looking at a screen shot use the Back button of your web browser (not the Back button that you see on the screen shot!).
1. Welcome screen - The first screen allows you to open a file and choose your preferred language for the program buttons and program help. Important: The only way to exit the program is by using the button 'Done - Exit Program' on this screen.
2. The - edit or study only - message - If you open a file then you will be asked if you wish to study the facts or if you wish to be able to study and edit the facts while you work.
3. General Information screen - The General Information screen shows you some general information about your file. At the bottom of the screen you will see the buttons Work with chapters, Options and Back. Work with chapters - takes you to the list of chapters for study and editing. Options - allows you to choose your preferred font and font size. Back - takes you back to the first screen (for instance, if you wish to exit the program).
4. List of chapters screen (study only mode) - This is what the list of chapters looks like if you indicated that you just want to study the facts (ie you don't want to be able to edit them while you study). The list of chapters shows you the material in KitQC. If you print out this list of chapters it is 20 pages long! Each chapter contains some facts for study. Altogether, KitQC contains over 5,000 facts for study supported by over 4,500 sound files in mp3 format. The sound files were recorded in Quebec and use the accent of Quebec.
5. List of chapters screen (study and edit mode) - This is what the list of chapters looks like if you indicated that you wish to be able to study and edit the facts. Notice that there are many more buttons available.
6. Add/Edit Chapter Facts - If you choose the button Add/Edit Chapter Facts in the chapter list then you get this screen. Notice that there is a button for creating tests on paper. This button produces a numbered test and a numbered answer sheet that makes it easy to correct the test.
7. Watch screen - Watch shows you the facts in a chapter like a slide show - fully automatically. You can use this to prepare for the Learn and Test exercises. You can also use it for a very comfortable review after doing the Learn and Test exercises.
8. Learn screen - Learn is a very simple exercise. You can type your answers or you can use a paper and pencil.
9. Test Screen - Test allows you to self-test on information by typing in your answers or by writing your answers on a piece of paper.
